I honestly am trying not to be this way, but at this point I have absolute (true absolute) zero trust in anything the administration says. To me, that is scary. If there is a major event (attack, meteor, etc) how can I trust a single thing said? Contrast that to January 2020 during the state of the union where I not only had normal trust in what Trump said, but was starting to like the results. (Things changed during COVID and the election denial, of course)

@Axtremus said in Church attendance in the United States: Maybe 3 out of 4 charge goers put their phones in "airplane mode" when attending church out of respect and consideration for fellow congregants? Nope, but don’t think that doesn’t happen as well. Plus, a not insubstantial number of churchgoers are older and more rural. While @George-K and our other Geezers are pretty hip to technology, they are the exception and not the rule. I had a 2 hour lecture on the pros and cons of geolocation for tracking attendance when I was on the marketing committee for Workhouse Arts. It was very helpful in determining things like where our event attendees were coming from and going to before and after the various events to help us target our outreach, it wasn’t reliable in determining attendance at all.

I like that idea. It will work until the scam will pay them more than the prize.

@Mik said in A wasted joke: Going to the pod next week to get a mass taken off my right foot. Make sure they mark the correct limb!!! Would not want you "walking" out of there missing an arm!

@LuFins-Dad Philip IV of France moved the papacy to Avignon in 1309 where it remained until pope Gregory XI moved his Curia back to Rome in the 1377. Then followed the Great Schism which lasted forty years during which there were as many as three popes/antipopes at a time between Rome and Avignon. The mess was never really sorted out until 1417 when Martin V was elected pope and accepted by all parties at the Council of Constance. Perhaps the time has come to repeat The Papal Babylonian Captivity all over again?

Love also how he was asked if they'll get a hearing as the law requires, and Trump said "I'll have to ask the lawyers about that".... maybe a question you should've asked BEFORE deporting folks?
